Treelab proprietary licence
Treelab is proprietary software. This licence sets out your rights to use the software; the terms of sale govern your purchase. Both documents carry version 2026-09-09.1 dated 9 September 2026.
1. Rights holder and applicable documents
The licensor is AZAE, Belgian private limited company (SRL), established at Chaussée d’Alsemberg 897, 1180 Uccle, Belgique, enterprise number 1030.335.879 · RPM Bruxelles. Full contact details appear in the legal notice and your purchase confirmation. Identity fields in double braces in the distributed LICENSE file refer to that same identity, which must be completed in those documents before any sale.
You are the licence holder named in the confirmation, whether an individual or a legal entity. The software comprises the Treelab files supplied under this licence. Third-party components expressly supplied with their own licence remain subject to that licence. No rights to third-party trademarks are granted.
2. Right to use
Following purchase, you receive a non-exclusive right, without a time limit, to install and use Treelab for personal or professional purposes. One key permits one activation at a time, on one machine. The number of projects created using that activation is not limited.
You may keep copies needed to install, back up and restore your authorised use, and adapt the supplied files locally for that use. These copies and adaptations do not permit a second simultaneous activation. Your own projects, documents and outputs remain yours; this licence gives us no rights over them.
3. Moving to another machine
You may move your activation to another machine without buying another licence. The new activation replaces the previous one; stop using Treelab on the old machine before using it on the new one. You may retain an inactive backup copy.
If the old machine is unavailable or the transfer fails, contact hi@treelab.sh to restore the activation associated with your purchase. This text introduces no new licence checks during ordinary command execution. Technical measures actually used must be disclosed before purchase.
4. Lifetime updates
The one-time payment includes all Treelab updates at no additional charge and without a time limit. Founder packs receive exactly the same rights. This commitment adds no renewal deadline, major-version limit or new commercial restriction.
This commitment sets no timetable for new features. Updates and information needed to maintain conformity, including security updates, remain due for the period required by law. A new contract version does not retroactively reduce rights already purchased. A change subject to statutory information or termination rights cannot override those rights.
5. Software protection and statutory exceptions
Except for the rights above or rights granted by law, you may not publish or redistribute Treelab or adaptations, share the key for simultaneous activations, rent out the software, grant sublicences or remove ownership notices. Access to the code does not make it open-source software.
These restrictions do not limit acts that mandatory law permits, including necessary backups, observation and study of operation, error correction and interoperability under their legal conditions. They do not prevent a legally permitted assignment or resale, including where distribution rights are exhausted; in that case the transferor must render their copies unusable as required by applicable rules. Moving between your own machines is governed by clause 3.
6. Environment and responsible use
Treelab runs on macOS and relies on the compatible tools identified in the offer description. Third-party accounts, subscriptions and any charges are not included in the Treelab price. At launch, the package, its messages and built-in instructions are in French; the website and guide explanations are in French and English. Translation of the package is planned after launch, with no promised date.
Commands may modify files, branches and settings according to the actions you initiate. Keep backups and check proposed actions and outputs from the assistants you use. These precautions do not transfer responsibility for a Treelab defect to the customer or remove our statutory or contractual duties.
7. Guarantees and liability
Statutory guarantees and remedies continue to apply. For consumers, the legal conformity guarantee for digital content and services, required updates, remedies at no charge and other rights are explained in the terms of sale. No “as is” provision excludes them.
Each party is responsible for its breaches under applicable law. This licence sets no fixed liability cap or general exclusion of damages. In particular, it does not exclude fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or failure to perform essential obligations. Mandatory rules protecting business customers also apply.
8. Termination, language and governing law
You may stop using the software at any time. This alone does not entitle you to a refund, without prejudice to withdrawal or other statutory remedies. Termination for breach requires the conditions and procedures set by applicable law; there is no discretionary withdrawal of paid rights. Following a valid termination or full assignment, stop uses for which you no longer hold rights.
The French and English texts are aligned by clause identifier. The contract language selected at purchase appears in the confirmation; changing the website language does not change it. Statutory interpretation rules, including those favouring consumers, prevail in case of ambiguity. Belgian law applies without depriving consumers of mandatory protections of their country of residence where applicable. Jurisdiction follows statutory rules; consumers are not required to use Belgian courts exclusively.
